A truly magnificent piece of late 19th or early 20th-century traditional folk art. This antique walking cane has been masterfully hand-carved from a single piece of dense hardwood, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and incredible patience from the maker.

Stylized Handle: Features a beautifully carved animal head (resembling a horse, hound, or stylized dragon) complete with tiny, authentic inset pin eyes. Aged Brass Collar: An original, thick brass ferrule/collar connects the handle to the shaft, sporting a gorgeous natural patina. Incredible Spiral Shaft: The main body of the shaft splits into two completely separate, intertwined snakes spiraling all the way down the cane. Each snake has been painstakingly hand-carved with a cross-hatched scale pattern.

Maker's Detail: Features a hand-carved six-pointed star motif just below the top turned column. Length: Classic 33 inches from the top of the handle to the tip.

Antique condition with a rich, deep, natural wood patina. The cane is solid, sturdy, and structurally sound. There are minor surface marks, light scuffs, and natural grain lines completely consistent with age and authentic historical use.

A rare, highly tactile, and incredibly collectible piece for any walking stick collector, trench art enthusiast, or fan of rustic British folk art.
