ANTIQUE AUSTRIAN/SWISS CARVED CANE WEGGIS-CANVAS PLAN FOR BATTLE OF RORKES DRIFT. A World War I Austrian/Swiss walking stick, carved with an Edelweiss. A white flower found high in the Alps. Weggis AMA 1914 and various town and village names, 89cm; with a plan of the Battle for Rorkes Drift after 19:00 hours, drawn on thick canvas, dated 1879 but presumed later, 83cm x 120cm. The Battle of Rorkes Drift took place on 22 and 23 January 1879 during the Zulu War (1879).
