Southwoldart: A carved and turned 19th century folk-art Yard Stick or cane, made of Ash. This quirky turned ask stick with carved pigs head and nicely twisted stem, is mounted with a brass ferrule. The stick measures 36 inches (that's a yard), and is an excellent aid to swine-management, or other livestock control. It's a bit of fun, and a sty-lish addition to a collection of anything "pig" if that's your thing.
, born and brought up a few miles from Southwold. Much time has been spent on the beach, or down the harbour, with many contented hours exploring, or pootling around the neighbouring villages, towns, coastline and countryside. More than 50 years of these meanderings have amassed, and continue to accumulate, a modest stock of connected pictures and antiques.
I also have a ridiculous hoard of hag-stones, and two small pieces of amber (time well spent). I'm not alone in that my addiction to the place runs deep, alongside a passion for art old and new, and an hunger for social history. Putting these together is satisfying, and I hope you find something in my shop which interests your eye and arouses your curiosity.
