This offering is for an early 20th century hand carved folk art cane. 33.25 in overall length and the condition is excellent. The design consists of two very nicely carved snakes, one with an orange stain and the other in green. Both are highlighted with wood burned spots to simulate scales and or spots. The snakes also have the ends of their tails carved with rattles to look like rattle snakes. There are three or four tiny spots where it looks like nails may have been removed, possibly the wood had been used for something else prior to being carved. To me though they look like spots where tiny twigs were cut from the limb during the carving.
