Silver Top Carved Ebony Cane - Import Marks 1892 by Samuel Boyce Landeck. Fine antique Walking Stick or Dress Cane, by Samuel Boyce (or Boaz) Landeck of London.
Beautifully carved Ebony shaft, large repoussé decorated Sterling Silver Top, original Brass Metal Ferrule. Several Counties import/export marks finally Hallmarked London, date letter R for 1892, Samuel Boyce (or Boaz) Landeck maker's mark. Silver polishes to a high sheen with slight oxidation & cleaner build-up, moderate age-related surface marks, scratching & dings. Wood has a good colour, is straight and sturdy, without splits or cracks, you may notice surface scratching & a 2cm shallow gouge either side of shaft ¾ down.
