Superb Antique Japanese Shibayama Walking Cane/Stick

I have recently come into a large collection of walking sticks and canes. After doing research on these items I will be listing them for sale over the coming months. A fine handle to this cane with Japanese shibayama insects randomly interspersed in the typical japanese manner, Ten overlaid insects with carved and inked legs and bodies, all the work is intact and the result is superb, it is a lovely example of its type with the handle have a rice yellow patina. Below is a decorative silver metal collar having a blank cartouche (no hallmarks present). Good sturdy hardwood shaft having metal ferrule. Lovely antique condition throughout with the silver collar having small dink's and dents and the shaft tarnished in places with age and use wear but all solid and only adds character of this beautiful cane. This super cane is wonderful for practical use as well as displaying as a decorative piece. Handle Length 9.5cms approx.
